$ 40.00 Starry-Night-in-wintertime

The original Starry Night (Dutch: De sterrennacht) is a painting by the Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh. The painting depicts the view outside his sanitorium room window at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (located in southern France) at night, although it was painted from memory during the day.

Paint Until you Faint gave the painting it's own version for the winter season. We think that this painting is a must-have for any and all art-lovers :)

$ 40.00 Chat-Noir

This painting is inspired by the iconic poster art of Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen for the 19th-century cabaret, in the bohemian Montmartre district of Paris: “Le Chat Noit” (The Black Cat). It was first opened on November 18th, 1881 at 84 Boulevard Rochechouart by the impresario Rodolphe Salis, and closed in 1897 not long after Salis' death (much to the disappointment of Picasso and others who looked for it when they came to Paris for the Exposition in 1900).

The club’s first success was assured with the wholesale arrival of a group of radical young writers and artists called Les Hydropathes (“those who are afraid of water”), led by the journalist Emile Goudeau. The group claimed to be averse to water, preferring wine and beer.

Join us to recreate this iconic poster art of the famous club that was part artist salon, part rowdy music hall.

This painting depicts a chandelier, and includes the application of “bling craft” after painting, to give the artwork unique and decorative features.

From the 15th century, chandeliers became popular decorative features in palaces and homes of nobility, clergy and merchants. Its high cost made the chandelier a symbol of luxury and status.

By the 18th century, developments in glassmaking permitted production of lead crystal, the light scattering properties of which quickly made it a popular addition to the form, leading to the crystal chandelier.

$ 35.00 Pop-Art-Oh-Baby

Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the 1960s in the United States. Pop art merges popular and mass culture with fine art, while injecting humor, irony, and recognizable imagery and content into the mix. Pop art employs aspects of mass culture, such as advertising and comic books, and was a reaction to abstract expressionism. Pop art is aimed to employ images of popular as opposed to the elitist culture in art, mostly through the use of parody and irony.

Andy Warhol is probably the most famous figure in Pop Art. For American pop art, it is Roy Lichtenstein. His work probably defines the basic premise of pop art better than any other through parody. Just like this painting, Lichtenstein selected the old-fashioned comic strip as subject matter, and produced a hard-edged, precise composition that documents while it parodies in a soft manner. Lichtenstein used oil and Magna paint in his best known works, such as Drowning Girl (1963), which was appropriated from the lead story in DC Comics' Secret Hearts #83. (Drowning Girl now is in the collection of Museum of Modern Art, New York.)
